Leaders do not fit in. They naturally separate themselves from the average and every day worker. Few are loud, most are quiet. They speak through their actions. A good leader doesn’t get stuck behind a desk. Leaders do not want glory, they want success for their team. They are willing to carry the burden and go the extra mile. They will speak when no one else will. In the words of John Maxwell, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been. They ignite passions and drives of others to reach beyond their potential. Leaders encourage and are compassionate. They practice and model what they preach. They have faith and trust in their teammates. They build up, not put down.

Are you willing to stand out?

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.
    -John Quincy Adams
