Leadership is a mindset of continued learning and growing. It is a journey of a heart’s desire to aspire to be the best. Through this journey, leaders are molded by their experiences and reactions. A leader must be humble, stay hungry, and always hustle.

Be Humble. Humility, a foreign word to many. Putting others before you is simple. Understanding others and serving them will offer you an altered perspective of life. Leaders also need to know their identity as a leader. Where do your strengths and passions come together? What do you love to do? What wakes you up at night? Continue to say yes to opportunities and experiences that will help you find the road where your strengths and passions collide.

Stay Hungry. Leaders maintain the attitude of “I am never there yet”. The famous UCLA coach, John Wooden said, “It’s what I know after I learned it all that really matters.” As leaders we have to continue to be curious and ask great questions. Learners always ask questions to deepen and further their knowledge. Honor someone you know by asking them a question to increase your knowledge.

Always Hustle. Leaders need to be the best. Each experience builds credibility by being the best at what you do. Set a standard. Your faithfulness defines your leadership. What you do now will prepare you for what you are doing next. Instill in those around you a sense of hope.

Leaders be humble, stay hungry, and always hustle.

HStrait, welcome to the conversation. This is a great perspective on leadership. Keep those ideas coming, there are many people who can continue to learn from what you have to offer.
